The organization was started by Anne Carlsvi who learned of the home while visiting a friend in Kenya. The group is a network of friends and neighbors that has grown to be 16 activists and 45 paying members. In addition one can count the numerous artists who have entertained at the various functions held to raise money for the home.

To this date FoS has raised app. 300,000 sek for the care and education of the Shangilia children.
